Abstract
To widen definitions of success and improve outcomes beyond academic ones, this large MAT (31 schools and a specialist college) established a Whole School SEND Preparation for Adulthood Professional Development Group. SENCOs used the WSS PfA audit to baseline provision, then led small-scale improvement projects supported by structured sessions, 1:1 coaching and the EEF implementation cycle. Actions prioritised staff knowledge, parental engagement and rigorous, adapted curricula. Evidence of impact includes clearer identification of strengths and gaps, improved confidence to lead PfA change, productive peer visits, and trust-level commitment to codifying shared PfA principles for SEND reviews - embedding PfA as a strategic priority despite workload pressures.
