What Works Well (WWW) was a database of case studies that described learning improvement, set up as part of the National Strategies for Education in England. Teaching practitioners from all phases and areas of education were able to share accounts of real developments which improved learning and teaching, and made a difference to pupil progress. What Works Well case studies were intended to support practice transfer and include sufficient detail and resources to enable others to implement the effective practice described.
Following the change of UK government in 2010, the National Strategies site was archived at https://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/. However, the integrity of many of the case studies and their supporting materials was not preserved. Camtree has reconstructed the What Work Well collection, extracting text from the original documents, linking supplementary materials, and adding structured abstracts to improve the findability of case studies.
